The staircase in Indian  as well as other __nation cinemas  is used  to  create  a sense of grandeur,perspective , distances and distinctions within the interior. Space for vertical movement is  rendered possible  in  an interior where movement would be otherwise restricted to one plane.High angle shots  are opportunities  for charachteristic free movements at this level. The symbolic space created by staircases  encapsulates and defines public and private spaces .The upper space in this enclosure(a hotel) is reminiscent of the upper rich classes,and in the case of a home   marks the space forbidden to outsiders.Space here is divided vertically  and camera placement can induce the spectator to behold and appraise a variety of visual and symbolic perspectives.In the shooting of the song 'Alibaba'from 'Agneepath'  spiralling movement was  uppermost in Mukul's mind.
