To date as far as I was aware Mukul was/is the only director of 'Sultanate'.
A few days ago on the IMDB website I noted another director's name alongside Mukul's
name.I consequently wrote to the director(who had meanwhile addressed a mail to my sister in law Anita reminding her of the good old days and how he regretted Mukul's passing away) expressing my surprise and initial disapproval,adding that I would only believe him when I'd have confirmation from my sister in law and the producer,Mr. Arjun Hingorani.
Meanwhile my younger brother,Raahul Anand enlightened me about the fact that initially'Sultanate' was shot in 2 versions,the Hindi version directed by Mukul and the English version called'The Edge of the Sword' directed by the American director. However since foreigners were not allowed to shoot in Rajasthan,the English version was finally shelved.
Ever since I have been corressponding with the American director,to clarify the issue.I was surprised that on the'Sultanate' video and dvd the American director's name did not figure anywhere.
Meanwhile I've written to IMDB to reinstate his name alonside Mukul's,but then they will have to write that he directed,most unfortunately,the shelved version of'Sultanate'.
I'm not quoting him since he didn't want to be quoted. More as I receive greater information.
