Mukul  Anand had learnt the art of film making  in all its aspects  by getting involved in the shaping of form and  content. After his beginnings as an Assistant Director with directors like Ravi Tandon ,he launched his own career with 'Kanoon  kya Karega'(his version of 'Cape Fear'),.His technical ly compelling  excellence and   brilliant craftmanship in the screenplay and overall direction got him his first  Filmfare award  as THE MOST   PROMISING DIRECTOR OF THE .YEAR..Then ensued another challengingand (well  made,) chilling and moving remake of Hithchcock's 'Dial M for Murder'called'AITBAAR'. Mukul had problems in the beginning in combining the audience's  taste for stock in trade  cinematographic  treatement and well beaten tracks. With the films that  followed ,he strived at attracting audiences too without restraining his creative  panache.
'
INSAAF'(Justice'and 'MAHASANGRAM'(Revolution) were footsteps on the popular film  ladder.
Mukul 's persistent  effort at depicting the simultaneity of action(s) in  scenic  narration  induced him to organise the action with temporal and emotional intermixtures in this 'stream of consciousness ' story  telling.(in this case it is a song being shot in one of his later films:'AGNEEPATH')
